Sam buys low on Doubs, Pat banks a dollar

By Teddy Blockbuster · 29d ago

Sam sent PatBerry $1 of FAAB budget and got back Romeo Doubs (WR-NE) along with a bench WR who has standalone value. That's the whole trade.

Call it the smallest deal Pat has made all year, which is notable given his history of nonstop offers. For a single dollar of FAAB, ssbradley40 walks away with a wide receiver and a depth piece with actual upside. Pat gets a dollar.

This is not the kind of trade that gets a team renamed "Out of Business" again, but it does not do much for Pat's side of the ledger either. Doubs headlines the deal as a real receiver, not a throw-in, and the extra bench WR only sweetens it. Pat's return is FAAB money that most managers spend on waiver-wire fliers by Week 3 anyway.

Sam, self-described terrible GM, continues his tradition of quietly making deals that look better on paper than his own scouting report. It is the same pattern that has him sitting at 88-65 for his career and a reigning REDRAFT CHAMPION: he calls himself the worst drafter in the league right up until the trade sheet says otherwise.

Fair swap in theory. In practice, this one favors ssbradley40 without much argument.
