Bowers clears biggest hurdle, McConkey exits with chest injury

The headline is out of Las Vegas. cbbrew's Brock Bowers walked out of the locker room under his own power after Sunday's win, and word is he could suit up as soon as Week 2. For an elite tight end who didn't play Week 1 after a meniscus trim, that's the best kind of non-story: no setback.

Scarpg has more to sweat out. Ladd McConkey left Sunday's loss with a chest injury after a big hit, no word yet on severity. He'd been the Chargers' best receiver before exiting, so this one bears watching for a weekly starter.

Philadelphia buoyed multiple rosters. cplabarge's Jalen Hurts threw three touchdowns in a win over Washington, while ssbradley40's DeVonta Smith flashed as the new No. 1 option with a long third-down grab. jgianares' Saquon Barkley ran well outside of one long burst but caught nothing of consequence — a mild concern given his fading role as a receiver last season.

ssbradley40 also got a clean sheet from Trevor Lawrence, who threw four touchdowns in a laugher over Cleveland.

Flex options split. PatBerry's Jameson Williams struggled to connect with Jared Goff. Trotter0's Denzel Boston flashed with a long touchdown for Cleveland.

Bench notes: DamnBrit's backfield trio (MarShawn Lloyd, Rico Dowdle, Jonathon Brooks) all played complementary roles behind bigger names. vaniano's Mark Andrews looked like Baltimore's clear TE1. zmoneyballers' Juwan Johnson scored for New Orleans. jgianares' Kenny Gainwell filled in fine in a lost cause. CapitanKampana's Daniel Jones had a rough outing for Indianapolis.
