PatBerry has made another trade. Shocking absolutely no one.
Pat sends CapitanKampana a 2027 third-round pick. In return, Pat lands J.K. Dobbins, an RB currently on Denver's roster and worth starter attention, plus a bench RB with standalone value.
For Pat, this is the move he's built his whole reputation on: turn future assets into present-day production. Dobbins headlines the deal and gives him another usable back, with the throw-in adding depth Pat can stash or flip again in a week or two, because he will.
For Will, this is a curious departure. The reigning champ has made his name picking players off waivers for nothing — Puka for $0, Chase Brown, Tucker Kraft, the works — while openly scorning draft picks as something for "geeks." Now he's stockpiling one. Maybe the title changed his outlook. Maybe he just knows a good return when Pat's dangling it.
On paper, Pat gets the more useful pieces for a roster now, Will banks an asset two years out. Fair value, reasonable needs met on both sides — which almost makes it less fun to write about. Almost.
