The waiver wire's biggest name this week was a tight end nobody will ever start over Brock Bowers. Juwan Johnson, a flex-worthy TE, got added by three different managers — Trotter0, Scarpg, and PatBerry — all within a day of each other. Call it a run on the position.
Braelon Allen drew the same kind of attention. Cmoney7, Scarpg, and PatBerry all added the bench RB with standalone value, suggesting the league agrees he's worth a roster spot even if nobody's naming their team after him yet.
Scarpg had the busiest week of anyone, churning through Spencer Shrader, Eddy Pineiro, Alec Pierce, and a kicker swap that somehow required two kickers in two days. In the process he dropped Quentin Johnston, a bench WR with standalone value — not exactly a disaster, but trading future upside for a kicker upgrade is a very Ryan move for a guy who usually wins by out-talking Pat rather than out-rostering him.
DamnBrit, ever the patient rebuilder, added Darren Waller as a depth TE and cut the 49ers defense. Low stakes, on brand.
PatBerry's flier on Tyreek Hill, listed only as a depth piece, is the wire's biggest "we'll see" of the week.
