October trade winners? History says not so fast

The Super Official Dynasty League has a long October tradition: managers get antsy before the stretch run and start moving pieces. Looking back, the stretch run rarely goes the way anyone plans.
Start with 2025, the freshest scar. zmoneyballers and CapitanKampana swapped a handful of names — Chase Brown, Tyrod Taylor, Isiah Pacheco, Matthew Golden — in a deal that looks lopsided now. Brown is a weekly RB starter and Golden is flex-worthy. Taylor and Pacheco are not making anyone's lineup. Call it a signature move for zmoneyballers, who treats this league like a trading desk.
A year earlier, PatBerry and ssbradley40 swapped Aidan O'Connell for Aidan O'Connell — well, one each direction, which is its own kind of symmetry. Both copies are off the radar today. Nobody won that one.
2023 gave us two quarterback change-of-address trades. CapitanKampana added Sam Howell from DamnBrit, later immortalized as one of Will's cursed QB graveyard entries. Over in the next deal, dray04 added Jarrett Stidham, also from DamnBrit. Neither name has been heard from since.
And in 2022, PatBerry cleaned house — Chase Claypool, Chris Godwin, Bailey Zappe all out the door. cplabarge scooped up Claypool. All three are now bench fodder or worse, proof that sometimes the best trade is the one you don't regret making.
