Vaniano owns Labarge 8-3, and his redraft team's name says the quiet part loud

The Super Official Dynasty League has no shortage of grudges — DamnBrit trails PatBerry 2-9, Cmoney7 has throttled ssbradley40 9-2, cbbrew and jgianares are locked dead even at 6-6 — but none run longer than cplabarge and vaniano. Eleven meetings. Vinny leads 8-3. For five straight years, Vinny has literally named his redraft team "Beat Labarge!" It has mostly not worked.

The numbers are almost cruel given how the rest of Connor's career reads — 92-74 lifetime, zero rings, the best record in league history never to win it all. Against Vinny, at least, the ledger tilts the other way, and not gently.

The low point for Connor came in 2020, week 2: vaniano 136.34, cplabarge 82.02, a blowout that needs no further commentary. A year later, in the same week 2 slot, Vinny made it look easy in a different way — 140.00 to 139.74, a quarter-point split that decided nothing except who got to talk.

Connor has the last laugh for now. He's won the last two meetings, chipping at an 8-3 deficit one game at a time, still looking — as always — for the kind of receipts a heckler needs. Vinny, characteristically, hasn't said much about it. He rarely does. The scoreboard has been doing his talking, and lately, so has the standings.
