Lamar and Jefferson aged well; Zeke and Hopkins did not

Five years out, the 2020 draft board reads like a museum exhibit of what this league used to believe.

Some of round one held up fine. dray04 opened with Christian McCaffrey, still a weekly RB starter, and PatBerry took Lamar Jackson fourth overall, now an outright elite QB. cplabarge's Saquon Barkley remains a weekly starter too. cbbrew grabbed Patrick Mahomes second overall and still refuses every offer for him — hard to argue, since Mahomes is still a weekly starter.

Not everyone aged as gracefully. ssbradley40 spent the fifth pick on Ezekiel Elliott, now off the fantasy radar — by his own admission he might be the league's worst drafter, and this pick isn't helping his case. vaniano used pick 11 on DeAndre Hopkins, also now off the radar. Team 10's Alvin Kamara and CapitanKampana's Tyreek Hill were both first-round selections and are now just depth pieces.

The real story is what happened after round one. DamnBrit quietly built a QB room for the ages, landing Joe Burrow in round three and Justin Herbert in round ten — both now weekly-or-better starters — to go with a Chris Godwin pick that still has bench value. PatBerry doubled down on the position too, adding CeeDee Lamb in round four behind Lamar.

But the steal of the draft belongs to cplabarge, who followed Barkley with Justin Jefferson in round nine, now an elite WR, and to dray04, who paired McCaffrey with Josh Allen in round four.

Some drafts get won in the room. This one got won in round nine.
