The Fake Football League · rivalry retrospective

Jhen owns Pat, and the numbers back it up

By Vinny Grudge · 21d ago

The Fake Football League has no shortage of grudges — CapitanKampana and PatBerry have battled to a 7-4 split, cbbrew has gotten the better of both DamnBrit and connorolson, and Trotter0 has traded results with connorolson eleven times. But no series has more history than jhen vs. PatBerry, now up to 11 meetings, and jhen holds the clear edge at 8-3.

That's a rough number for the league's commissioner. PatBerry has two titles, more than anyone else in this league, and a well-earned reputation for making everyone else's roster his business. None of it has translated against jhen.

The record includes a 2021 week 17 rout, jhen 146.74, PatBerry 85.10 — the kind of scoreline that doesn't need commentary. PatBerry does have one signature answer: a 2020 week 12 escape, 145.58-141.08, as tight as this rivalry gets.

Lately there's no debate. Jhen has taken the last three meetings outright, stretching the all-time gap further. For a manager who treats the waiver wire and trade block like his personal chessboard, PatBerry has yet to find the move that solves jhen specifically. The trades keep coming. The results against this one opponent don't change.
