Luther Burden's groin injury is the headline item for cbbrew. The Bears rookie will miss the entire preseason after hurting himself in a training camp collision, but Chicago still expects him back for the Week 1 opener. Since Burden is a weekly starter in this league, cbbrew should watch the next month closely, even with the sunny outlook from the Bears' camp.
Better news for vaniano: Malik Nabers looks on track for Week 1 as he continues to practice on a knee that underwent surgery last fall. For a weekly starter coming off a serious injury, that's about as good as August news gets.
Zay Flowers gave zmoneyballers a scare with a leg collision in 7-on-7s, but it's being called a quad contusion and nothing more. A minor scare for a weekly starter, not a crisis.
Vaniano's roster stayed busy elsewhere. Jordan Addison's thumb issue looks minor and he's trending toward full health. Jordan Mason is impressing in camp battling for time in the Vikings backfield. Jared Goff will sit preseason openers as Detroit rests starters — a non-event for a flex option.
Elsewhere: Josh Downs (cplabarge) and Matthew Golden (CapitanKampana) are both banged up but expected to play through it. Bench-tier notes on Daniel Jones, Jayden Reed, Bryce Young and Mike Evans amount to little more than camp chatter.
