Nacua's groin scare headlines a jittery day in camp

By Nora Sideline · 15d ago

Puka Nacua left Tuesday's joint practice with the Cowboys early with groin soreness, and coach Sean McVay had no immediate update. The Rams are calling it cautious management, not something that threatens Week 1, but CapitanKampana owns an elite receiver and any exit from practice is worth watching until proven nothing.

Ashton Jeanty is trending the other way for vaniano. Coach Klint Kubiak confirmed the Raiders' starters, Jeanty included, will play in the preseason opener, and the workload picture in Las Vegas looks like a heavy-volume role with added passing-game work. That's the kind of camp report an elite-RB owner wants to read.

Weekly starters got mixed news. Trevor Lawrence will sit out Jacksonville's preseason opener as the Jaguars rest their starters, a non-event for ssbradley40 given the plan to ease him into the season. Luther Burden's groin issue is more of a lingering question for cbbrew — Ben Johnson only offered a "hopefully" on Week 1 availability.

In New Orleans, Travis Etienne and Alvin Kamara are now listed as co-RB1s, with Etienne on early downs and Kamara handling third downs. PatBerry, who also has Derrick Henry, saw Henry news of the better kind — Baltimore's new OC scheme still points to a heavy workload plus expanded passing-game usage.

Cam Ward is expected to play in Tennessee's opener for zmoneyballers, though snap count is uncertain. Bhayshul Tuten's listed as a Jaguars committee co-starter for jgianares, worth flex consideration once camp sorts out shares.

Elsewhere: Baker Mayfield (Scarpg) and Malik Willis (vaniano) drew modest, non-alarming camp updates. Travis Hunter (cbbrew), Michael Pittman (DamnBrit), Mike Evans (Cmoney7) and Shedeur Sanders (Cmoney7) all logged low-stakes notes — nothing that should move a bench spot.
