The week's biggest worry belongs to zmoneyballers. Christian McCaffrey stayed out of practice again, still dealing with unspecified tightness. San Francisco isn't panicking yet, but a weekly starter with a vague injury this early is worth watching.
jgianares has some parallel concern. Saquon Barkley didn't dress for Philadelphia's preseason opener, though that looks more like standard veteran rest than a real issue.
Buffalo's opener was full of names. Josh Allen (jgianares) looked sharp in his limited action, tossing a touchdown before calling it a day — nothing to worry about for an elite QB. James Cook (cplabarge) got his carries in without much to show for it, business as usual. Khalil Shakir (ssbradley40) and DJ Moore (DamnBrit) both produced early before Moore banged up his leg; he says he's fine, but DamnBrit should keep an eye on next week's game.
DeVonta Smith (ssbradley40) is progressing from his hamstring injury and could be nearing a return — a mild positive for a weekly starter.
Dallas held its starters out entirely. Dak Prescott (Trotter0) and Jake Ferguson (cplabarge) sat, as expected, no cause for alarm.
Carolina's Bryce Young (cbbrew) and Jonathon Brooks (DamnBrit) struggled in a lopsided loss to Buffalo, though it's just preseason noise for two bench-tier assets.
Elsewhere, Tyrone Tracy (vaniano) had a quiet game in a crowded Giants backfield, Jordan Mason (vaniano) looked fine in a timeshare with Aaron Jones, Chris Godwin (DamnBrit) sat out a preseason game with no concern, and Josh Downs (cplabarge) left a practice after a hard fall — worth a glance, but nothing more yet.
