PatBerry's tight end goes down, but the rest of his roster bounces back

By Nora Sideline · 7d ago

Tyler Warren is banged up, and PatBerry felt it all week. The rookie tight end strained his groin during a joint practice with Atlanta and was in some pain leaving the field, though a source called it minor and expects him back at practice soon. He's your weekly starter, so any absence stings, but the early word suggests this is a speed bump, not a setback.

The rest of PatBerry's Wednesday was kinder. Bo Nix is set to play his first game snaps since ankle surgery, a real step for a starting QB. Alec Pierce is progressing off his own ankle procedure and drawing praise from his coach. Jameson Williams shook off a minor shoulder issue and looked sharp in team drills, no Week 1 concerns there.

Elsewhere, CapitanKampana got good news on Tucker Kraft, who's fully back from his knee and making plays in practice, extension talks ongoing. Less good: Quinshon Judkins sat out with a minor issue, worth watching for a weekly starter.

In Pittsburgh, DamnBrit's Michael Pittman and ssbradley40's DK Metcalf are both nursing ailments, but neither is considered a Week 1 concern. Trotter0's Rachaad White has a hamstring issue that isn't considered serious. DamnBrit also saw Jaylen Waddle return to full practice, no worries there.

Jgianares got the day's rough break: Stroud himself is fine and resting for preseason, but Houston's receiver room lost Jayden Higgins to a torn ACL, thinning his options behind Nico Collins.
