CapitanKampana has a rough news day

The busiest inbox in the league belongs to CapitanKampana. Puka Nacua remains out of practice with the Rams, still sidelined by the same soreness that pulled him from a joint session last week, and coach Sean McVay isn't rushing him back. For an elite WR, that's the kind of item you check daily until it resolves.

Judkins isn't much better. The Browns running back has missed consecutive practices with what Todd Monken is calling a nagging issue, nothing alarming by the team's account, but his availability for the weekend exhibition is unresolved. As a weekly RB starter, that's worth monitoring, not panicking over — yet.

The good news for CapitanKampana: Brock Purdy looked fine in limited preseason work, connecting on a few throws before giving way to the backups, likely his final tune-up before Week 1. Kyler Murray, meanwhile, is simply being rested for the preseason finale — he's Minnesota's clear Week 1 starter.

Over in San Francisco, zmoneyballers got mixed signals. Christian McCaffrey sat out again with unspecified tightness, but Kyle Shanahan continues to insist it's nothing serious. George Kittle, still working back from Achilles surgery, got an encouraging update and remains on track for Week 1.

Patrick Mahomes sat again for cbbrew, precautionary, with no setbacks reported. Sam LaPorta's hip issue is a real question mark for Cmoney7 heading into the opener. Jared Goff (vaniano) and C.J. Stroud (jgianares) both had unremarkable preseason snap counts. DJ Moore returned to full practice for DamnBrit amid a banged-up Bills receiver room.

Smaller notes: Quentin Johnston (Cmoney7) is considered fine after a minor injury, Josh Downs (cplabarge) welcomes Keenan Allen to Indianapolis, and Michael Penix (vaniano) is still working back from his knee, still behind Tua.
