Texans shakeup headlines a quiet week around the league

Start in Houston, where the wide receiver room just got thinner. Jayden Higgins tore his ACL in practice and landed on injured reserve, ending his season before it started for Trotter0's bench. It's a tough break for a player who was ticked to be the Texans' No. 2 option, but with Higgins stashed on a bench, the real fantasy fallout lands elsewhere — specifically on Nico Collins, jgianares' weekly starter. With Higgins gone and Houston's receiver depth suddenly a committee of names you'd need Google to identify, Collins looks like the unquestioned focal point of that passing game. That's a boost worth banking.
Elsewhere in Houston, the backfield stayed murky. David Montgomery (Cmoney7) sat out the second preseason game, which reads as a good sign for his Week 1 workload, while Woody Marks (also Cmoney7) scored on the only real drive he saw. Nothing changes here — Montgomery still profiles as the early-down starter, Marks the passing-down complement. C.J. Stroud (jgianares) got the start and led a scoring drive, unremarkable given the QB battle isn't really a battle.
Out west, the Chargers' first-team offense played roughly one possession and accomplished little. Justin Herbert (ssbradley40) and Ladd McConkey (Scarpg) both had brief, uneventful showings, and Omarion Hampton (Trotter0) barely touched the ball. None of it changes anything for Week 1 outlooks — call it preseason noise.
Ashton Jeanty (vaniano) rested with the rest of Las Vegas' starters, which counts as a mild positive for his workload projection.
In Pittsburgh, both Rico Dowdle (DamnBrit) and Jaylen Warren (Scarpg) suited up together, keeping their timeshare very much alive and very much unresolved.
Trevor Lawrence (ssbradley40) sat again, his second straight preseason no-show, leaving ssbradley40 to hope Week 1 arrives before any real answers do. Jaylen Waddle (DamnBrit) cleared his leg tightness and played, a clean bill of health worth a small sigh of relief. Parker Washington (Cmoney7) remains day-to-day, expected back at practice soon — a non-event, but a trending-positive one.
