Round one was a QB stampede, and only one manager is still smiling about it

Five quarterbacks came off the board in the first seven picks of the 2021 Super Official Dynasty League draft. One of them turned into a weekly starter. Trevor Lawrence, ssbradley40's first overall pick, is that quarterback — a rare good outcome for a manager who cheerfully calls himself the league's worst drafter.

The other four have not aged as kindly. Trey Lance, Justin Fields, and Mac Jones are all depth pieces now. Zach Wilson, taken fifth by PatBerry, is off the fantasy radar entirely — a pick that hasn't held up so much as it's been quietly evicted from rosters.

CapitanKampana had the round's best night, landing Kyle Pitts (weekly TE starter) and DeVonta Smith (weekly WR starter) — a fitting start for a manager who's built a career finding value everywhere. Vaniano's Ja'Marr Chase, now an elite WR, is the headline hit of the round, which makes it extra painful in hindsight that Vinny would later ship Chase off in a trade the league still brings up.

The real value came late. Cplabarge's third-round grab of Nico Collins has turned into a weekly WR starter — the kind of quiet, unglamorous pick that outlasts half the first round. Joshua Palmer and Khalil Herbert didn't hit that big, but both are still useful depth, proof the third round wasn't just first-round leftovers.

Moral of the draft: quarterbacks in bulk are a gamble, and the smart money was picking wide receivers nobody was talking about yet.
