The most alarming news in the league arrived out of Cincinnati. Ja'Marr Chase, PatBerry's elite WR, hyperextended his knee last week and was on the practice field Wednesday without pads, still unable to do drills. Tee Higgins, the weekly starter CapitanKampana counts on, has a bruised heel and didn't practice at all Wednesday. Nothing is being called serious yet, but both managers should watch the Bengals' reports closely before setting lineups for the opener against Tampa Bay.
Elsewhere at tight end, business as usual. Trey McBride is again Arizona's clear No. 1 option, good news for jgianares. Brock Bowers, cbbrew's elite TE, gets a healthy offseason and Kirk Cousins throwing him the ball, which is about as clean a setup as a comeback season could ask for.
Saquon Barkley and Jonathan Taylor were both rested through their teams' entire preseason slates. Nothing to see there for jgianares or Scarpg — standard load management for proven starters.
Dak Prescott (Trotter0) and Sam Darnold (Scarpg) likewise sat out preseason action entirely, non-events for both.
On the bench-depth front: Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones remain a committee in Minnesota, benefiting vaniano's floor. Chris Godwin looks like a bigger piece of Tampa's passing game with Mike Evans gone, a boost for DamnBrit. J.K. Dobbins is trending toward playing Week 1, per CapitanKampana's second note of the day. Michael Wilson's extension talks continue for Scarpg, KC Concepcion and Marvin Harrison both look primed for real roles for PatBerry, and Kyle Monangai is progressing well enough to worry zmoneyballers about losing touches to D'Andre Swift.
